Benoath Cove is a small, secluded sandy and rocky cove located along the North Cornwall coast, between Bossiney Haven and Benoath Cliff near Tintagel. Known for its isolation and rugged natural setting, the beach is exposed at low tide and often links to adjacent coves, making exploration possible only during suitable tidal conditions.
The cove features rocky outcrops, dramatic cliffs, and rock pools, offering a quieter experience compared to more accessible neighbouring beaches. Its remote location ensures a peaceful environment, popular with walkers and those seeking solitude on the South West Coast Path.
There are no visitor facilities, shops, or amenities at the cove, preserving its untouched character. Visitors should be aware of changing tides and steep access, and plan accordingly if wishing to explore this natural site.

5 months agoWhat a find, even if way out of season!! Seriously, such a beautiful cove to come across on any coastal walk. Not only is Rocky Valley stunning, but then you have this beach, and I will be back..! What more could you wish for on our North coast: caves galore, rock arches, fresh water pools, beautiful turquoise waters, stunning cliff vistas everywhere…! ⚠️ However, this cove comes with an access warning ⚠️ It is NOT the easiest access by far and not suitable for anything other than what you can carry on your back! The path is thin with shaley slippery grit, the slate rock is very slippery, there is no room for more that one person at a time and when you safely reach the end of the slippery rock there is another steep cliff rope path to navigate!! I found it fun (safely), but serious consideration is needed prior to access!! Remember.. Steel only moments, take only memories, but leave only footprints!! 👣 No lifeguards, no facilities. Parking on the main road above, if you are early!
