Polkerris Beach is a small, sheltered sandy beach located on the south coast near St Austell, within a picturesque historic fishing village. Its position, protected by a curved harbour wall, makes it particularly popular for families and those seeking calm waters for swimming or paddling.
The beach offers a range of water sports including paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing, with equipment available for hire locally. Its gently sloping sands and the presence of village facilities such as a café and toilets contribute to its family-friendly atmosphere.
Surrounded by scenic countryside and accessed via the South West Coast Path, Polkerris Beach combines a tranquil village setting with opportunities for coastal walks. The slipway provides launching for small boats, while its relatively sheltered location offers some protection from prevailing winds.
