Gorran Haven Beach is a sheltered, sandy cove situated within a historic fishing village on Cornwall’s south coast. Protected by a stone harbour wall, the beach is favoured for its calm waters, making it suitable for swimming, paddle boarding and launching small boats. The gently sloping sands extend at low tide, revealing rock pools that are popular with families and those seeking quiet exploration.
Facilities include a seasonal RNLI lifeguard service, public toilets, and several cafés and shops just a short walk from the beach, providing refreshments and local essentials. The setting is particularly scenic, with cliffs framing the bay and views toward the Dodman Point headland. The village atmosphere and absence of heavy surf make Gorran Haven especially welcoming for families, those with children, and visitors who prefer a more tranquil seaside experience.
While the slipway improves accessibility to the sand, the approach is still steep in places, so mobility-impaired visitors may need assistance. The beach is also a starting point for coastal walks, with the South West Coast Path passing nearby, making it a popular spot for walkers.
