Poldhu Cove is a popular sandy beach situated between Mullion and Gunwalloe on the southern coast of The Lizard Peninsula. Its sheltered position provides a scenic setting and makes it suitable for families, especially at low tide when the beach area expands considerably.

Facilities at Poldhu Cove include a beachside café that is open year-round, public toilets, and a seasonal surf school offering lessons for various abilities. The gently sloping sands and relatively easy sea entry allow for paddling, swimming, and beginner surfing, especially when conditions are calm.

The surrounding cliffs and greenery provide a picturesque backdrop, and at low tide, some smaller rock pools and streams are revealed. The cove has a history of important scientific events, being the landing site for Marconi’s groundbreaking transatlantic radio signal in the early 20th century.
